"We all have moments of epiphany, when things that are plate-glass clear to others but opaque to us suddenly become apparent."
This is an uplifting story. I've been to Topeka and talked with locals about the pain those people have caused their community.
In reading about them, hearing what they say to be "true" in this world, I often can't understand how they think they're doing any good. How does isolating yourself so forcefully do anyone any good? Am I missing something? Are the rest of us missing something here...that's it's ok to be bitter, angry, hurtful & judgmental in order to get your point of "love" or "repentance" across?
Of course not.
Welcome to real life, Megan. Welcome to a world where this is no such thing as certainty, to a world where it's okay to be unsure & unfounded, okay to be scared, okay to say "I don't know."
Welcome to your generation.
We're here with you. We're trying to figure it out too. It's okay.
